Greater reporting flexibility is being given to general hospitals, but only Option 1 (of 3) is available for psychiatric facilities.  The changes are nicely summarized in Table 2 on page 10. HBIPS 4, 6 and 7 are being retired. HBIPS 1, 2, 3 and 5 are the retained chart-abstracted measures. Note that “HBIPS for each measure includes all relevant patient age groups”.  There are no Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQM) available for Inpatient Psychiatric Services, Tobacco Treatment or Substance Use measure sets.
