Oro™ 2.0 is described as an online high reliability assessment and resource library.  Think of it as a Targeted Solutions Tool (TST) for becoming a high reliability organization (HRO). Oro™ 2.0, like the TSTs were developed in TJC’s Center for Transforming Healthcare and involved a number of hospitals (50+) having field tested the resources offered in the library. Also, like the TST, it involves facilities entering information that is then used to call up customized, field-tested solutions, or in this case resources.  The input required are answers to questions about maturational development related to the 3 critical factors for becoming an HRO (i.e., leadership commitment, culture of safety and performance/robust process improvement).  Those who have experienced the HRO Matrix handout during a survey leadership session might see Oro™ 2.0 as an automated upgrade of that experience.  There is the similar hope and encouragement of consensus building discussion by organizational leaders now with the added support of field-tested action steps designed to help  organizations move further and faster down the path toward becoming an HRO.  Also, like the TSTs, Oro™ 2.0 is free for accredited organizations.

Although HRO is not as hot a topic as it once was during the Leadership Session, it still comes up. At the very least, if it does come up, having explored Oro™ 2.0 would be a feather in your cap.
