Like all articles in the Tracer Methodology 101 series, this installment is encouraging the conduct of mock tracers.  This month, advice is given for maximizing the benefit of mock tracers by processing their results in a more deliberate manner. The article suggests a number of steps beginning with a post mock tracer debriefing on the conduct of the tracer itself. It then suggests moving to analyze and prioritize the results.  From this analysis, opportunities for improving compliance should be identified and actions taken (after careful planning) to address them.  These actions should be monitored, evaluated and the resulting outcomes should be shared throughout the organization.
Tip: Develop a Mock Tracer Program that utilizes a mock tracer team to conduct an ongoing schedule of focused mock tracers during the first two thirds of your pre-survey cycle.  Then, progressively move into more general treatment team practice tracers for survey in the final third of your cycle.
