Although there were some shifts in ranking, there were no new standards entering the rankings for hospitals.  Nine of the Top 10 standards for BHC were also in this ranking when TJC last reported this past October. The significant changes are CTS.04.03.33 (preparing and/or distributing food and nutrition products) entering the listing in 5th position, and the rise of IC.02.04.01 (staff receiving the influenza vaccination) from 10th (11%) to 4th place (17%) in the Top 10.
Tip: In addition to some increased monitoring of Top 10 standards, organizations are admonished to pay a bit more attention to those standards that have experienced major upward change in their rankings, as this suggests significantly more past attention (and likelihood of future attention) for those issues.
