*PR: – Top Standards Compliance Issues for 2013[®] [REF:JCSC, LDR, SFT] Perspectives, April 2014, Vol 34, #4, Pg 1 #JCp1404_B1
Each Spring, TJC has published the 10 most frequently cited standards in each program for all of the previous year. The two most frequently cited requirements have been the same over the last 4 years in the Hospital program and over the last 3 years in the BHC program. They are: • BHC: CTS.03.01.03/Plan for care and HR.02.01.03/Clinical Responsibilities • HAP: RC.01.01.01/Complete, Accurate Records and LS.02.01.20/Egress Integrity Since the list for the first half of 2013 was published, there have been some minor fluctuations in ranking but the Top 10 for hospitals contain the same issues. Not so for BHC. Since September, NPSG.15.01.01 rose from 5th to 3rd place on the list. In addition, RC.01.01.0 returned (after a year off) to the ranking in 10th place. The point of this list is to help you identify and avoid potential problems with compliance, quality and safety. Tip: BHC organizations should pay particular attention to the issues in the top 2 positions along with the 10th position due to its recent return Tip: Hospitals should pay particular attention to LS.02.01.20 and EC.02..03.05 as these are also the two most frequently cited standards among SPHCC member hospitals over the last two years.
