Hospital Engagement Networks (HENs) are part of the CMS Partnership for Patients (PFP).  The PFP is a public-private endeavor to improve the quality, safety and affordability of health care for all Americans. There are 26 HENs; including one sponsored by JCR with 39 hospitals in 17 states.  HENs work to help identify solutions (especially those with an evidence base) that are already proven to work and disseminate them to other hospitals and providers.  HENs also provide technical assistance, training programs and develop learning collaboratives for hospitals.  While most of the focus has been on general medical/surgical concerns, the article also identifies two [PEARL] resource documents that contain useful and relevant materials for us as well.  See Below:

• Patient Safety Initiative: Hospital Executive and Physician Leadership Strategies: 39-page toolkit, developed by the JCR Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) team… includes concise synopsis of activities that help leaders and medical staff members activate their support for patient safety.
• Beyond the Bundles: How to Implement Best Practices at the Bedside 27-page  change package designed to help motivate and energize frontline  health care  providers to readily access and use best practice bundles and operational  tips…  Relevant sections include best practice recommendations and/or toolkits for Adverse Drug Events (pg 7), Falls (pg15) and Readmission Reduction (pg19)
