“The final omnibus rule issued by the Department of Health and Human Services in the January 25, 2013, Federal Register amends various regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and… requires amendments to business associate agreements (BAAs) …between The Joint Commission and each of its accredited and certified organizations.” The good news is that TJC has made (and posted) the necessary agreement changes and there is not even a need for an organization’s signature. You can, however, submit electronically or via regular mail if you like. If you have not previously signed the TJC BAA, you will be prompted to do so during the next update of your E-App.
Tip: Make sure you have a copy of the original TJC Business Associate Agreement, along with this and any other amendments on file.
