EC mock tracers focus on organizational systems and processes specifically related to the physical environment. In this second installment of the series, the mock tracer focuses on Communication, Patient Safety and the Physical Environment via a scenario involving hospital’s plans for communication when the outside phone lines are down.  A nice feature of the article is the manner in which 15 suggested sample questions are specifically indicated by number as they might occur within the scenario narrative.
Tip: Review Part 1 of this series, also and consider using your JCSC, Safety Officer and Chief Engineer to conduct an EC tracer (perhaps in place of the usual environment rounds).  [®]
