• TS: – Mount Sinai Tackles Patient Boarding [REF: GB, LDR, MDx, RNx] The Source, June 2013, Vol 11, #6, Pg1 To further alert and prepare the field for January 2014 implementation, here is a second article in a TJC publication this month on the topic of Patient Flow. This one is to be the first of three case studies. It makes a key point that the problem of boarding must be considered in a larger context than just the ED. The article also contains a section on page 6 that focuses on the issue of boarding psychiatric patients. Remember, in addition to LD.04.03.11, EP#9, new EP#24 in PC.01.01.01 requires training of care givers to meet the needs of psychiatric patients while being boarded. |
