The article contains some general information which should be common knowledge to lab leadership. However it does provide some additional detail which most laboratories would find to be beneficial in improving their Quality Control programs.
The summary five recommendations are accurate but I think there is an important sixth one that is left out and that is to take action upon any issues or outliers. We find a lot of labs “going through the motions” and monitoring but they don’t really dig deep into the data to look for trends and implement proactive measures before it becomes an ongoing issue.
I would recommend that you share this very well written article with any level of laboratory employee.
